Get your smile back with dental implants
Having missing teeth can cause you to lose confidence in your smile; treatment with dental implants can help you to get that confidence back – and a lot more besides. At Warrendale Dental Care in Ross-on-Wye, our team of dentists are highly experienced in fitting dental implants and giving patients their smile back.
What are dental implants?
Dental implants are bionic tooth roots. They are small screws made of titanium that are placed in your jaw bone with a mild surgical procedure. There they integrate with the bone and surrounding tissues, providing firm anchorage for new teeth – crowns, dentures or bridges, depending on your needs.
Why are dental implants the best way to replace my missing teeth?
Implants are the only permanent way to replace lost teeth. They are also the only treatment that actively prevents bone loss, a common side effect of losing your teeth that can cause skin around your face to sag. Because the implants integrate with the bone and because titanium is highly compatible with the human body, they help to stop this happening. We have treated many patients with implants at our Ross-on-Wye dental practice.
How does it work?
Your first step should be to contact our Ross-on-Wye practice for an implant consultation. One of our dentists will examine your mouth and take a detailed history to assess your suitability for treatment with implants.
Provided you are suitable for implant treatment, your dentist will carefully plan your implant placement. The number of dental implants required will depend on the number of teeth that need replacing – the good news is that one implant can usually support several new teeth, in the form of an implant-secured bridge or denture.
Implants are placed by a skilled dentist here at the Warrendale Dental Care. Most patients require only local anaesthesia. After a healing period of a few months, your permanent new teeth will be attached.
