When to get dental implants in Herefordshire
If you have experienced a recent knock to the teeth, it can leave you with gaps in your confidence as well as your mouth. On the other hand, teeth may fall out as a result of neglecting your oral health. Whatever the cause, we have the solution to fill the gap in your smile; come to see us at Warrendale Dental Care for dental implant treatment.
Instead of spending too long looking at your reflection in the mirror in despair, you can come to visit us and we’ll talk you through what’s involved in getting dental implants in Herefordshire.
What’s the drill?
The first step to a restored, toothy smile, is booking a consultation. Before you get too excited, we need to check that you are suitable for dental implants. Children and young teens are not suited to treatment as the underlying jawbones are still growing.
We will carry out an x-ray to check that there is enough bone in the jaw to mesh around and support the new implant.
During treatment, you will receive local anaesthetic to help numb the pain. The implant will then be drilled into the jaw. You will need to allow time for the implant to fuse with the surrounding bone. This can take between 6 weeks to 6 months, depending on your circumstances.
You will then return to us to complete your treatment. This involves placing a crown on the new artificial root, that is, your dental implant, using an abutment. The crown is made to match the rest of your teeth in colour and shape, so it will look as natural as possible.
Depending on your circumstances, other stages may be involved such as extracting damaged teeth prior to treatment or adding new bone if there is not enough bone in the jaw.
Look forward to the benefits

Perhaps most significantly for many people, they help you feel confident with how you look, which can have knock-on effects on your personal and professional interactions.
